who we serve

A company runs on two kinds of capital.

The wealth it holds, and the people who help you build it. Most advisors attend to one and overlook the other. We help owners tend to both: independence that does not wait on the business, and a team with reason to stay.

Start a conversation

An owner’s wealth and the company that produced it are rarely separate for long. Capital moves between the two, most of what you are worth stays bound up in the business, and the decisions that carry the most weight are the ones easiest to postpone and most expensive to misjudge.

Yet the company rests on something no balance sheet records: the people who run it. Drawing them in, rewarding them, and holding on to the ones you cannot replace is its own form of financial strategy, and one few advisors are equipped to help you with.

Finivi works across the whole of it: the wealth you build apart from the company, the people who give it its value, and, when you choose it, a considered way out.

the arc of ownership

However Far Along You Are

Ownership is not a single moment but a long arc, and we meet owners at any point on it. What shapes the outcome is usually set in motion years before the moment most people plan for.

01

While You Build

As the company grows, we keep the personal side from falling behind and help you build wealth beyond the business. And because its value is made by the people in it, we help you align, reward, and keep the team that drives that growth.

02

While You Prepare

Long before any transition, we help you learn what the business is worth, what would raise that figure, and how to ready your own affairs so that when the time comes, the timing is yours to choose rather than forced upon you.

03

When You Transition

At a sale or handoff, we work beside your accountant and attorney to structure the deal for the best after-tax result, to decide where the proceeds go before they arrive, and to protect the people and family left in its wake.

04

Once You Step Back

When the company is behind you, we turn a single concentrated asset into diversified, dependable income, plan the legacy you mean to leave, and help you settle into the life the wealth was built for all along.

What an Owner Holds

The company, the wealth tied up in it, and the people who make it worth something are one picture, not three. These are the places they meet.

Untangling Personal and Business Finances

For an owner, the two are rarely separate. Money moves between household and company, and the personal side is usually the one that waits. We bring both into one view: what to pay yourself, what to reinvest, and what to move somewhere safer while the choice is still yours.

Building Wealth Outside the Business

When most of your net worth sits inside the company, your future rests on a single, illiquid bet. We help you direct profits into assets that are not tied to the business, so your independence does not wait on a sale to become real.

Your Own Retirement

Owners have retirement options an employee never sees, from a solo plan to a cash balance plan that can shelter far more from tax. We put the right structure in place, and plan the income that will carry you once you step back.

Tax Strategy

How the business is structured, how you are paid, and how an eventual sale is arranged each change what you keep, often by more than any investment decision. We plan across years rather than filing seasons, and well ahead of any transaction, while the structure can still be changed.

Attract, Reward, and Retain

We help you align employee compensation with the strategic growth goals of the company, so the rewards that attract, reward, and retain your best people are the same ones that drive your competitive edge and the company’s long-term performance.

Employee Financial Wellness

Financial stress does not stay home; it comes to work, and it sits at the edge of every task. A workplace financial education program is among the most valued benefits a company can offer. Few benefits do more for the expense.

Protecting What You Have Built

A business carries risks a paycheck does not. We review the coverage, the buy-sell arrangements, and the continuity plan that would keep an illness, a dispute, or a sudden loss from undoing years of building, for the company and for the family that depends on it.

Passing It On

What you build is meant to outlast you, whether it reaches the next generation as a business or as wealth. We help you plan how it transfers to family, how much passes with the least lost to tax, and how to give in the ways that matter to you, so your intentions are set down long before they are needed.

You do not have to be selling to start.

Whatever stage the company is in, a conversation is the place to begin.

And One Day, Leaving It Well

Every owner leaves eventually, one way or another. It may be a sale, a handoff to family or partners, a transfer to the people who built it, or a gradual step back. Each path carries different consequences for price, for taxes, and for the people you leave behind, and each rewards the same preparation. Owners who begin years early have time to shape the outcome rather than react to an offer.

The plan does not end at that day. A single concentrated asset becomes a portfolio, and the proceeds become income you will draw for the rest of your life. We plan for it from the start, so that when the time comes, it funds the life you had in mind, and not merely the moment of the deal.

questions owners ask

Before You Reach Out

Do I need to be selling to work with you?

No, and most of our owner clients are not. The decisions that improve an owner’s position happen in the ordinary years of running a company: how you pay yourself, what you set aside outside the business, which retirement structure you use, how the company is organized for tax. Owners who wait for a transaction to seek advice arrive with fewer options than those who did not.

Can you actually help with employee benefits and retention?

Yes. We advise on and help put in place the bonus programs, deferred compensation, and incentive structures that let a smaller company attract, reward, and keep the people it depends on, along with financial education programs that become a genuinely sought-after benefit. We coordinate with your existing providers rather than replace them, so what you offer is worth what it costs.

What size of business do you work with?

A wide range, from established local companies to firms with substantial revenue. The questions turn out to be much the same at every size: what the business is worth, what happens to the household if something happens to it, and whether the personal side is keeping pace with the company.

Do you work alongside my accountant and attorney?

Yes, and we prefer to. Ownership decisions cross tax, legal, and financial lines at the same time, and the advice is only as good as the coordination behind it. We work with the professionals you already rely on, and help bring in others when a transaction calls for it.

What if I never sell?

Many owners do not. A company may pass to family, transfer to partners or employees, or wind down in its own time. Each path carries different consequences for taxes, for income, and for the people involved, and each rewards the same preparation. The plan should account for the one you intend.
